Rocky Hills Retreat is a deluxe boutique hideaway on Tasmania’s East Coast.
Even though Rocky Hills Retreat is just two kilometres up a gravelly driveway from the ocean, it feels like a million miles away. Once you pass through the Rocky Hills’ stone gates, the 250 acres of dry sclerophyll bush closes around you.
The rhythm of the Retreat starts with the ever changing glorious pre-dawn light. Sit out on the morning deck to breathe in its full depth. With breakfast provisions provided, you can enjoy muesli with yogurt, fresh fruit or eggs and bacon if you wish.
You’ll find a full selection of delicious gourmet meals from Tasmania’s premiere providore, so you really need never leave unless you wish to.
If it is cold, you could light the fire and cosy up on the couch with a glass of wine and watch the astonishing view.
The beautiful Huon Pine bath tub out on the evening deck smells delightful, holds its warmth for a long time, and is almost impossible to leave once you’re in. It takes about 30 minutes to fill, so start it early enough so as not to miss the sunset, with a glass of complimentary sparkling in hand – it really is heaven. The owls and possums will keep you company.
We also provide a custom designed unique range of organic skin care products hand made and formulated in Tasmania.
Rocky Hills Retreat’s bed will be waiting for you. It’s very luxurious and covered in linen – layers of comfort surrounding you.
You could always lift the veil of Rocky Hills Retreat and go back to the other world – visit the local vineyards, the delights of Swansea, and the Freycinet Peninsula – however, it seems as though people just never want to leave.
The walls are hung with Tasmanian art including a large stunning piece by Lucienne Rickard.
